EAVEX Weekly
The UX index declined by 1.4% to 695 points on Friday (Dec 11) as liquidity continued to dry up on the Ukrainian Exchange. Neither a scuffle in Parliament that erupted after a rogue lawmaker from the Poroshenko Bloc interrupted an address by Prime Minister Yatseniuk, nor positive news that the government submitted a compromise bill on tax reform to Parliament, had any impact on investor sentiments amid the low turnover. Among the 10 UX index components, Azovstal (AZST) was the biggest mover, falling 7.1% to 39.50 kopecks, while Motor Sich (MSICH) was unchanged at UAH 1984 per share. On the interbank currency market, the hryvnia weakened by 1.2% to bid/ask of 23.73/23.85 UAH/USD. In London trading, MHP (MHPC) edged down 1.6% to USD 9.25 while Ferrexpo (FXPO) was flat at its distressed level of GBp 22.00. Warsaw-listed Kernel (KER) fell 2.7% to PLN 42.80 and Agroton (AGT) lost 2.9% to close at PLN 1.01.
