Quotes for Ukrainian sovereigns rose sharply over the week ahead of the visit of an IMF technical mission scheduled to arrive on Oct. 26. Rumors have circulated among market players that the visit will unlock Ukraine’s frozen standby loan program, with many assuming that the IMF’s requirement that Ukraine raise domestic gas tariffs to free-market levels may be softened somewhat.
