Quotes for Ukrainian sovereign Eurobonds were generally higher last week as investors bet on some type of progress in the Ukraine-Russia relationship coming out of Friday’s (Oct 17) meeting between Presidents Poroshenko and Putin in Milan. The benchmark Ukraine-2023 issue rose by 2.0% to 81.3/82.8 (10.9%/10.6%). In local market news, the Finance Ministry continued to raise money by selling 10-year UAH-denominated bonds via friendly state bank bids of 15.5%, whereas on the secondary market, long-term UAH-sovereign bonds are trading at near 20%.
